Any Baptized Catholic member of St. Anne parish who is at least in fifth grade is welcomed to serve at the altar.

To be an altar server is a great privilege and responsibility.  Altar servers assist the priest at Mass as he leads the prayer of the community and prays over the bread and wine which the community has offered transforming those gifts into the body and blood of Jesus for the community.  This is very important because being able to become part of the body of Christ through the Eucharist is a way that Jesus offers us salvation from our sins and also a way that he remains with us in each other.

Altar servers, by their example, can also help the community to pray.  They are like St. John and St. Mary Magdalene who served Jesus with their companionship as he offered himself on the cross.  They are also like the disciples of Jesus who went to make preparations for the Last Supper.

If you are interested in becoming an altar server, contact our parish office so you can be scheduled to attend a training session offered regularly at St. Anne Church.
