REMINDER TO ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL REL. ED. Students and Families-

We WILL NOT MEET THIS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12th for 6th grade, 7th grade/Conf I , or 8th grade/Conf. II Religious Education (CCD).

This Wednesday is the Richmond Hill Middle School Home Coming game and activities. Students have been given a "pass" to take the night off and go have fun! We will see you all again next week on October 18th.

8th Grade/ Conf. II students- please remember to turn in your "Role Model" papers when you return to class on October 18th. These were due last Wednesday, October 5th. If you still have not turned in an "All About Me" paper it is VERY late- you must turn this paper in immediately please. Finally, on November 2nd you all have a paper on a Saint due. Please begin your research now if you have not already started- no cutting and pasting please... You can look on the parish web site under the Confirmation tab for research resources if you need help. Also- I am accepting names and email /ph #'s for studetns who are interested in volunteering for service hours at the parish picnic on October 30th. I will take the FIRST ten names that contact me- please do not sign up if you earned VBS service hours- leave this opportunity for those who still need more hours. Also, anyone who dresses like a Saint for the Parade of Saints on Oct. 30th will earn one hour of service- see the bulletin this coming weekend for details. Also, be sure to sign up to help with or appear in the new Christmas musical play that the parish is putting on this December. Rehearsals begin soon!

7th Grade students- You have all been asked to participate in the 2nd Annual Vocations Essay Contest, sponsored by the Southern Cross and the Diocese of Savannah Serra Club. These essays should be 300 words or less (typed if possible). Your topic is: "How do I know that God is in my life and what should I do to understand his plan for me?"

PLEASE INCLUDE A COVER SHEET WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ON IT: Student's Name, Student's Signature, Name of your Parish, and your address and PARENTS email/phone number.

These essays are due to be turned in to your CCD teacher no later than November 4th . This contest awards CASH PRIZES! 1st Place-$200, 2nd Place-$125, 3rd Place $75.  All three prizes were won by St. Anne essay writers last year! (and no, not because they were the only entries.... there were MANY entries, but the St. Anne ones were judged to be the best   )

6th Grade students- Please make sure you have completed the Saint project/report that your CCD teachers assigned. Also, PARENTS- please note that if your child is being released later than 8:00pm it is because the students are staying over for the amount of time they delay the start of class each week... (uh oh!) .   Students, in order to get out of class at the assigned stop time you must be in class ON TIME. Please try to arrive about 5 minutes before 7:00pm and then go take your seat in the classroom. Thanks for your cooperation.

EVERYONE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: Please remember to use appropriate and KIND language that is respectful when you are with your peers. Don't use language or words that you wouldn't want someone else to use toward your Brother, Sister, MOM or DAD or that you wouldn't normally use in front of GOD if he were standing beside you !

WHO YOU ARE is often defined by others based on what you say...

God Bless,

Cyndy Glasscock- DRE
