Religious Education 2011-12 Registration Information
Please note, to be eligible to receive any of the following sacraments - 1st Reconciliation, 1st Eucharist, or Confirmation, a student is expected to meet the following minimum requirements: Regularly attended religious education for the year immediately prior to the current school year; either at St. Anne’s, or to provide a ransfer/letter of participation from their previous parish for that prior year.
o During that prior year of religious education the student should have attended/completed 75% or more of the scheduled religious education classes, either at St. Anne's or their previous parish.
o Students are expected to also continue regularly attending classes during the final sacramental preparation year. Inconsistent attendance may result in a student being deferred to a later sacrament date.
o Classes for grades Pre-K, K, 1,3,4 & 5, begin Sunday, September 11, 2011. Pre-K students must be 4 by Sept. 1st. NOTE: Grade 1 parents, please see the sacramental requirements section above. This grade/class is a year I prep class.
Meeting times for the above listed class will be on scheduled Sundays, 9:35 AM - 10:45 AM Sacramental Preparation for 1st Reconciliation/1st Communion (grade 2 or above) begins on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 and will meet regularly on scheduled Tuesdays at 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM.
The local school district buses our students from Richmond Hill Elementary School each week, as we have been identified as an after-school program.
A mandatory meeting for all parents of 1st Reconciliation/1st Communion students will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 12:15pm in the church. Sacramental record forms, important class dates and a plan for the transfer of students from the local grade school to religion class will be discussed and explained at this meeting. The students are not expected to attend this meeting, but may accompany a parent if necessary.
6th grade & **Confirmation Year I (gr. 7 or above, for students beginning their Confirmation preparation). Classes will begin on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 for all 6th & all Conf. Yr. I /7th grade students.
These classes will meet weekly on scheduled Wednesdays in Holy Family Hall (HFH).
6th grade will meet from 7:00 to 8:00pm - ** Conf.-Year I (grade 7 or above) will meet from 7:00PM-8:30pm. This is a required class before Confirmation Year II (grade 8 or above) can be attended.
NOTE: Conf. Year I parents, please see the sacramental req. section above. This grade/class is a year prep class.
Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation (Year II gr. 8 or above). This class begins on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 and will meet weekly on scheduled Wednesdays at 7:00PM-8:30PM in Holy Family Hall (HFH).
NOTE: Grade 8/Conf. Year II parents, please see item #2, listed under the sacramental requirement section above.
First class/parent meeting for this class is Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 7:00PM in HFH. Students will not be enrolled unless a parent attends this meeting.
This meeting/first class is for all Confirmation II students (gr. 8 or above) & their parents.
Please provide a copy of each student’s baptismal certificate (if not already submitted). You will need this information to complete the student’s registration. Any registration not completed in a timely fashion may result in a student who is registering for a sacramental year in being deferred to a later sacrament date.
