Pre-Jordan Information

Baptism is a beginning, not only for your child, but for your entire family. Baptism is also a wonderful gift you give to your child, the salvation in Jesus Christ and the membership in His Church. This is an important decision on your part, because as the parents, you are the first teachers of your child in the practice of the faith. This is why before you make the final decision, you yourselves will need to be active in your Christian faith and participating members of this Catholic community. We must teach what we believe and practice what we teach.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated by Father Joe by appointment. Parents who wish to present their child for Baptism should call Sr. Mary Ann at the parish office to make arrangements for Pre-Jordan classes. The following pre-requisites must be met:

PARENTS
- must be registered members of St. Anne Parish; one parent must be Catholic; and both parents, if possible, must attend a Pre-Jordan Class. Parents should bring the child's birth certificate to the class.

GODARENTS - at least one must be a practicing Catholic. All Catholic Godparents must fulfill the following requirements: must be at least 16 years of age; have received Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation; present an eleigibility certificate from his/her parish of current registration and should attend Pre-Jordan Class and be in full Communion with the Church. .

Pre-Jordan Classes for parents/godparents are held on Sunday afternoons after the 11:00 am Mass by appointment. with Sister Mary Ann.

When these prerequisites have been completed, please contact Father Smith to schedule your child's Baptism, or to receive a letter of permission to allow the Baptism to take place at another church.
